This summer we are encouraging all of our students to READ, READ, READ!   

The ability to read and the love for reading are determiners for success in school and in life. Readers really are leaders. That's why we have set a Summer Reading goal for every elementary student. Parents, we cannot encourage you strongly enough to help your child read regularly. Make it fun! Visit the library. Read together. Make reading a habit.

A book list and reading goals for your class are listed below.   We encourage you to choose from the recommended book list or you may create your own list to include books that most interest you.   It is not mandatory that you choose only from the WOLCS list.   So, get to your public library fast.   Complete the reading log and bring it with you on the first day of school.   We have a surprise in store for every student who meets the summer reading goals for their class.  There will be special recognition for those students that read more than the reading goal.

Please note, each Reading List is for the grade students will be entering for the 2009-2010 Year.

Students entering Kindergarten and First Grade may be assisted by an adult.

We strongly encourage every WOLCS family to become familiar with the excellent libraries in our community.

Many exciting adventures and interesting characters are waiting to be discovered in the books you will read this summer!  We can’t wait to hear you tell us about them when you return to school in the fall.
