This summer we are encouraging all of our students to READ, READ, READ!   

The ability to read and the love for reading are determiners for success in school and in life. Readers really are leaders. That's why we have set a Summer Reading goal for every elementary student. Parents, we cannot encourage you strongly enough to help your child read regularly. Make it fun! Visit the library. Read together. Make reading a habit.

A book list and reading goals for your class are listed below.   We encourage you to choose from the recommended book list or you may create your own list to include books that most interest you.   Several teachers have included some required reading.   So, get to your public library fast.   Complete the reading log and bring it with you on the first day of school.  

There will be a movie day for all students who complete the summer goal. There will be special recognition for those students that read more than the reading goal.

Please note, each Reading List is for the grade students will be entering for the 2010-2011 year.

Students entering Kindergarten and First Grade may be assisted by an adult. To encourage students to read, our computer lab will be open and available for AR tests during the summer on Thursdays and Fridays only from 8:45 - 9:30 a.m. starting June 10th. Please do not call or stop by outside of these times as we have to properly staff our computer lab on those days. All children must be accompanied by an adult (they are not allowed to be dropped off).

Tests taken over the summer DO NOT COUNT towards your AR goals for school year 2010-2011.
